Idaho Rally 2010
Idaho Rally was quite an experience! So many miles, a schedule that kept us busy from 7am to 9pm, and then figuring out when to find time to eat and work on the cars, heat, bugs, and great roads - Idaho Rally is unique to say the least.
On the first day the audi had its first roll-like off, but only tipped on its side, so I don't think that counts as an actual roll.
It did enough damage to that side that the wheels weren't pointing in the right direction. Thanks to some crafty work in service that night by Sean Medcroft the wheels were mostly straight so we got to run on the second day.
Unfortunately lots of parts were crooked, tweaked, or otherwise f'ed up, and the car was handling like a schizophrenic on coke, totally twitchy and un-predictable. So, we had to take it slow and just enjoy the scenery, but we did finish the second day.
I think there is enough damage that the car will have to be retired from stage rally until I win the lottery.
Of course, all of this is trumped by Brian burning his car to the ground. Since he and Pat are ok, I can't really complain, but that really scared the $hit out of me.
